Hockey Heaven

Two of my favourite people took me to a Guelph Storm Game last weekend.  I got to go with Rebecca and Heather and zillions of other Storm fans to watch the game - with NO mom and dad!

(Bring on the junk food - nachos and cheez please!)  

The game was really fun, but what made it even more exciting was that I brought my camera with me!  Mom thinks she is the only one who can get good pictures for my blog?

I Adores the Chores

 Yes, you heard that right.  I am now 5, and able to take on more responsibilities around the house.  Mom, Dad and I decided that once I had my 5th birthday, we would make a chore chart and I would get an allowance every week.  A chore done earns me a check-mark, and each check-mark earns me 10 cents.  Mom and I made the chore chart together.  She drew the lines and wrote the words, then I drew pictures of myself doing the various chores. (I love love love, doing the check-marks on the chart I made).

In families you help one another out.  There are some expectations that apply to everyone and you don't get allowance for them.  For example, everyone is expected to be kind to one another and just because you behave properly or cooperate, does not mean you get a check-mark on your chore chart.


Another example of an expectation (no check-mark) is taking good care of your pets.  I know that when you get pets, like my aquatic frogs (Ribbit & Croak), or like our python Penny, that means you have a big responsibility to make sure they are happy and healthy.  Happy pet is the reward, not a check-mark.


However, there are some things that earn check-marks, and therefore cents.  Things like help clearing or setting the table, cleaning my room by myself, making my bed in the morning, helping to sweep and mop (some of my favourite chores), helping to vacuum and dust - things like that.

Here I am earning one of my first ten centses.

I don't want it, but mom says I need a bit of help with the squeezing out of the mop, once I have dipped, soaked and swirled it in the bucket (my most favourite part of mopping).

Finally!

We have been waiting and waiting...finally there is enough of the proper kind of snow, to build a snowman!

Jumping For Joy - I am 5!

 

I also do gymnastics class, now that I am 5.  

This means lots of practicing my jumps!
