The Cole-Train

This weekend we went to Toronto to visit Colin and Tara and their new baby boy Cole (also affectionately known as the "sleep bandit" by his daddy).

Mom, dad and babe were all looking great, as were the doggies Sammie and Zoe.
I had some good cuddle time with Cole AND the doggies.

(By the way grandma, it's official - I am not allergic to dogs or babies).

Eye do declare!

The day after my birthday party, was my first swimming lesson
(since I was 8 months old).
I am in Sea Turtle 1.
Although I am not a fan of having water on my face, in my eyes or around my nose and ears - I did pretty well in the pool, blowing bubbles like an old pro.

However, on Tuesday morning 'eye' woke up looking like this!

"Eye do declare, " said mom
"between the play centre and the pool,
we seem to have picked up an eye infection".

It was worth it.

Happy Birthday to ME!

My 4th birthday was terrific. When I woke up on January 5th, the first thing I said was "Mom, look! I'm 4 and I'm huge! I am as big as Ben now!"

At Montessori school we have a special ceremony for birthdays. The birthday child holds a globe ball, while the rest of the children sit in a circle around them. In the middle of the circle is a yellow ball, which represents the sun. While the children sing happy birthday, the birthday child (me) walks around the sun, holding the globe, one time for each year they have been on this earth.
I orbited the sun four times.

The birthday child is also invited to take a special snack in for the class to share together. Mom and I made apple and honey sandwiches with graham crackers. The birthday child (me) gets to hand out the special snack to the rest of the class.
Yum - it was a big hit.

After school, mom and dad told me that I could choose which restaurant I wanted to go to for my special birthday dinner.
I chose all-you-can-eat sushi, and we got our money's worth, as always!

Nan and Darcy came to have sushi with us, which was great! We had a fun meal together and we all got have ice cream for dessert.

On the weekend we had my birthday party, organized by mom (thanks mom!). Five of my friends came, plus extra family and friends. We went to the Funmazing Play Centre which was a lot of fun!

4 is going to be a good year - I can feel it.

Sparkles in the Park!

For New Year's Eve this year - just like last year - we spent the evening with my bud Aidan and his parents. We made our own pizzas at our house, had sparkly juice for a special treat, then bundled up for an evening of Sparkles in the Park.

Unlike last year which was very cold, this year the weather was mild but the rain held out until after the fireworks.

One of the best parts of the night was that Aidan and I patiently waited in line to go on the carousel which they ran for free that night. It was magical!

We felt very special to be at the park in the dark and being able to stay up until the fireworks were done at 8:30!

Happy New Year everyone!

Holiday Hooplah ~ 2010 (part 4 of 4)

Last Stop: Lyndon Farm

By the end of the Hooplah, we all felt a little bit like this...

Despite the sensory overload of Christmas, we had a lovely time at 'the farm'. It was especially bittersweet knowing that this will be the last Christmas spent at this special place.

We made the most of it, playing outside, sledding and making a snow cave, complete with snow slide! It was dubbed, "Fort Scout".

We opened prezzies (yes, MORE prezzies).

We ate lots of good food and enjoyed each other's company.

I got a very fun train set that kept us all busy!

Next up...
My 4th Birthday!
