Dressing up with Abbey Cat

Grandma and Grandpa got me a great new toy who I have named Abbey Cat.  She has pants, shirt, coat with hood and shoes that I can take on and off.  There are all kinds of buckles, velcro, zippers, buttons, snaps, ties and other things for me to practice.  Cool toy.

Ooooh, what would the grandmas think!!?

My cousin Marcus and I had a blast hanging out with Penny.  I told him the rules for when Penny is out and about (aside from don't ever let her get away!).
The rules are:
  • don't squeeze her, even if she squeezes you
  • move slowly, no flinging or flailing
  • don't put your hands near her head
Mom and dad said the most important rule is to have fun, and whenever possible, take pictures to send to grandma (in this case, Marcus' grandma too)!

Post-Chop Slop

My haircut was GREAT!
I got a cleaned-up new look,
a balloon,
a cookie cutter
and dinner out with mom and dad!

(for the record, we do not recommend Williams Coffee Pub)

Mother's Day, 2009

I am a sweet and thoughtful little girl, at least that's what mom and dad tell me.  It was Mother's Day this weekend and all week I worked hard at school to create a wonderful 'prise for mom on her special day.  On her big day, Mom stayed in bed while dad and I brought her coffee, the Saturday Star and canteloupe.  That was also the time when I presented her with my 'prise.

Even though after we unwrapped everything, I decided to pick out a few of the seedlings and pick all of the stars off the frame I made, mom understood and said she loved my creations and would keep my 'prise until she is an old lady.

A very busy weekend...

("the grave")

I am a gardener and I come by it honestly.
At least one member of all sets of grandparents love to garden, and also my great-grandma (Super-G).  Mom and dad are just getting old enough to love gardening too (they are 30 and you know what they say about people that old).

This weekend, I planted:
-3 big sugar maples and 3 paper birch trees (at Nan's house)
At my house I planted
-lily of the valley (transplanted)
-Black barlow (bulbs)
-one yellow edged hosta
-a whole bunch of bee haven (liatris) bulbs
-another bleeding heart plant
-a bunch of lilies

I have my own trowel and Dora gardening gloves.
I enjoy digging in the dirt and looking for wormies.  I also like to water plants and the bonus is being able to stamp in the mud after watering.

We are trying hard to rehabilitate "the grave" on our front lawn.  Dad's goal is to eliminate all grass, thus the need for cutting.

It was a busy weekend.
What are the child labour laws in this country anyway?
