This is a picture of the quilt mom made for me. It was made with love and comes with a story. Here's how we tell it.
When I was growing in mom's tummy, she started knitting squares of all different kinds of wool. Mom says she only knows how to knit in straight lines, and little squares are not overwhelming to think about making. Mom knit and knit all the squares, then started putting them together as a quilt...but then I was born and mom says life got kinda' busy.
Mom didn't work on the quilt for a long time, until this spring when Super-G was so sick. Mom says she needed something to do with her hands, so she pulled out the quilt and started knitting like crazy (she gave me my own knitting to play with too, which is neat).
Mom finished the quilt just after Super-G died and she says it is a "Blanket of Life's Book-ends" because she made it while I was growing and while Super-G was dying.
I don't really know what that means but I love my blanket and I love my mom.
